Some of the problems I have encountered with a diffuser
Stone not staying lit.
Stone goes cold.
Stone turns black.
Stone looks slick.
No scent.
Most of these problems are very easy to work on.
For the most part, some of us DO NOT follow directions.
So if you follow these simple DIRECTIONS you should have less
problems with your wick.
As the diffuser itself is just a bottle so that is why I make
my own diffuser instead of purchasing name brand diffusers.
This way I can match MY decor not the lamp makers.
SO here are a COUPLE IMPORTANT DIRECTIONS AND A TIP!
DIRECTIONS:
NEVER fill your bottle(Diffuser) more than 2/3rds full
ALWAYS put snuffer cap on when NOT IN USE
Letting the stone work constantly can reduce the life of the stone, some people do not
shut their lamps down after a couple hours they burn the fuel till it runs out. Thus the wick will not last as long, but you
have a wonderful fragrance constantly and replacing wicks is inexpensive if you purchase at a reasonable cost.
TIPS:
CLEAN your wick.
Clean your wick/stone by soaking in 91 or 99 % ISO Rubbing
Alcohol overnite and let dry.
Clean your wick/stone between SCENT Changes.
Clean your wick/stone every week.
NEVER USE 70% ISO ALCOHOL
When you clean your wicks have 2 jars with tight lids.
Fill Both Jars - half full with 91 or 99% alcohol.
One to soak overnight and then let dry a little bit.
Then put wick into second jar and keep until ready to use. This will keep the wick primed and you wont have to wait to
light it after you add your fuel to your lamp.
Always remember to put snuffer cap on to extinguish after a couple hours.
Always keep snuffer cap on when lamp is not operating.
This keeps wick and stone from drying out.
When you cleaning jars get dirty with all the oils that will be pulled out of the stone you will need to change your
Alcohol jar to fresh clean alcohol, NOTICE color of alcohol changing to a yellow color, that is the oil being pulled out of
the clogged stone.
You maybe using to much oil. Try cutting back on the amount of oil you use as the less oil you use the more scent the
diffuser will throw.
